Passport Village is a group travel club and social networking community. We sponsor regular group trips of many different destinations and varieties. Membership is open and free. We are based in Orlando, Florida.
The club started by chance in 1989 when four friends then living in Michigan and Ohio took an extended weekend trip to Washington, D.C. to visit a mutual childhood friend. Such a good time was shared on that trip that the group traveled together annually after this.
Word of our trips spread by word of mouth and, over the years, more than 100 travelers have joined in for group excursions. Most trips have included 20 or more travelers.
In recent years, it was agreed that it was time to take this cozy fun-loving group to another level. The sentiment was that it would be fun and enriching to establish a multicultural travel club with Members from many continents and cultures sharing group travels.
The name Passport Village was selected for the concept, but it would not be publicized on a widespread basis until completion of a website to provide worldwide information. The 2008 Grand Opening of this website marks an important step in the establishment of an international travel club with fraternal camaraderie.
